This valuable school program is run by dedicated volunteers and proudly supported by Streaky Bay Foodland. It ensures all students have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast, setting them up for a positive and focused day of learning. Lunchtime Activities
Students at Streaky Bay Area School have a range of lunchtime activities to get involved in, offering something for everyone. Whether it’s getting creative with Art, unwinding with Journal Writing, building worlds in Minecraft, or challenging friends with Games and Puzzles, there’s always a way to stay entertained. For those keen on being active, Soccer in the gym and Games on the oval provide the perfect opportunity to burn off energy and have fun with friends. These activities help create a positive, inclusive environment where students can relax, connect and enjoy their break.
The Wellbeing Wagon
A mobile initiative by Year 11 student Chloe, inspired by her passion to help others feel a sense of belonging, to feel safe and supported. Chloe has incorporated this project into her Community Studies subject. Equipped with games, drawing supplies and engaging activities aimed at bringing students together during lunch breaks. Its purpose is to create a positive environment that promotes social interaction, creativity, connection and inclusive, supportive play in a fun and welcoming setting. Thanks to the Parents & Friends group for their financial support, which helped launch this project.
The Hub
A dedicated space within the school where students can go to self-regulate in a calm and supportive environment. Designed to promote emotional wellbeing, The Hub offers a quiet retreat for students who may need a break, time to reflect or support in managing their emotions. Guided by Wellbeing Officer Toni Foster, students are encouraged to develop self-awareness and positive coping strategies. Toni provides a compassionate presence, helping students feel safe, heard and supported as they work through their individual needs and return to class ready to engage and learn.
Community Mentor Program
The Community Mentoring Program at Streaky Bay Area School is designed to foster supportive relationships between students and local community members. This initiative aims to enhance students’ personal and academic growth by connecting them with mentors who provide guidance, encouragement and real-world insights. Through regular meetings and activities, students gain valuable skills, build confidence and develop a stronger sense of belonging within the community. The program not only benefits the students but also strengthens community ties, creating a collaborative environment that supports educational success and personal development.
Buddy Classes R-12
The R-12 Buddy Classes at Streaky Bay Area School are an integral part of fostering a nurturing and inclusive school environment. This program pairs younger students with older peers, promoting cross-age friendships and a sense of community. Through regular interactions, such as shared activities and collaborative projects, students develop social skills, empathy and leadership qualities. The older students serve as role models, providing guidance and support, while the younger ones benefit from the encouragement and companionship. This initiative not only enhances the school culture but also contributes to the personal growth and confidence of all participants.
